Ø Purchasing Principle
It is Purchasing' s responsibility to ensure that the company's
business is placed with the most innovative and cost competitive
Suppliers, producing the highest quality products in support of
our schedules. Purchasing focus is on total cost management and
achievement of optimum material cost from a continually improving
supply base.
Each Purchasing activity is responsible for establishing and maintaining
a system for proper control of purchased products and services.
Ø Sourcing Policy
The Purchasing Department will maintain an "arms length" policy
in dealing with all Suppliers. Sourcing decisions will based on
analysis of quotations provided by Suppliers in response to routine
market tests conducted by the Buyers. Supplier selection for the
market test process will be at the discretion of the Buyer and sourcing
decisions require concurrence of at least one or more levels of
Purchasing management at AAT based on specific circumstances of
the buy.
Ø Production Purchasing
The Production Purchasing Department is responsible for procurement
of parts used in the assembly of production vehicles manufactured
at the AutoAlliance (Thailand) plant.
Ø Non-Production Purchasing
The Non-Production Department is responsible for procurement of
facilities, goods, services and materials needed to facilitate assembly
of production vehicles and to support the normal business activities
of the AutoAlliance (Thailand) plant and office.
