21 September 2021

Executives and employees from AutoAlliance (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (AAT), a joint-venture between Ford and Mazda, together with executives from WHA Utilities and Power Plc (WHAUP) and WHA Industrial Development Plc virtually participated the grand opening ceremony of Solar for Rooftop project through online platform on 22 September 2021 in celebration of the completion of solar cells installation on the roof of AAT building.

Covering over 45,000 square meters and with a capacity of 5 MW, the project will help reduce CO2 emissions by switching to a cleaner and more environmentally friendly energy resource. The project is expected to also help reduce AAT’s electricity costs at an average of THB 31.6 million per year, or THB 790 million for the next 25 years.

“As a leading automotive manufacturer in Thailand, we aim to build world class quality vehicles with efficient operations as well as a focus on environment. This project will enhance our efforts to maintain a clear path to successfully reach the target of energy usage per unit of vehicle production. We will continue to preserve the environment and make this planet clean and safe for this generation and the next.”, stated Kel Kearns, president & CEO, AutoAlliance (Thailand).
